UW football player Andru Pulu pleads guilty to March assault charge

The Daily’s Natalie Johnson wrote this brief in today’s paper, which reports that UW defensive end Andru Pulu plead guilty yesterday to a second-degree felony assault charge stemming from a March 7 fight at an off-campus house party.

The story cites other news sources as saying that the typical sentencing for this kind of crim is three to nine months of jail time. The UW suspended Pulu indefinitely from the team the day after the assault occurred, and is awaiting the outcome of his assault case before making a final decision about his standing with the team.

Pulu will be sentenced May 7.
