Search for new UW President

May 19th, 2010 · No Comments

Three Board of Regents members visited the UW Student Senate to talk about the search for the next university president.  They said the board is looking for a person who can manage change, see the broader picture, and be a leader who understands the need to move forward while respecting university traditions.  The board will appoint an interim president to replace Mark Emmert (pictured right), who is stepping down to become the president of the NCAA.  A presidential search committee hopes to fill the position permanently before the 2011-12 school year.  Reporter Katie Burke has more in The Daily.
