The voting is over and the University Heights Community Center is a big winner in the 2010 Partners in Preservation initiative.  The center will receive a grant of $60,000 to repair 255 original wood windows.  American Express and the National Trust for Historic Preservation decided to award $5000 to the other contestants who didn’t receive enough votes, including the Jacobsen Observatory on the UW campus.  You can see the entire list of awards here.
