Seattle Police and University of Washington Police are investigating the case of a missing University of Washington student.
On March 6th, 2011 at approximately 4:00 p.m., UWPD was notified that a female UW student was reported as missing. The 18 year old student, Marizela Perez was last seen on Saturday, March 5th when she departed her Rainer Beach home headed for the UW Seattle Campus. Indications are that she may have taken the light rail train en-route to the University District area. Marizela was scheduled to be in classes today on the UW Seattle Campus, but she failed to attend. There are also indications that Marizela may have been in the University District shopping late Saturday afternoon, March 5th, around 4 p.m.
Marizela Perez is described as 5’5″ tall, 110-120 lbs, brown hair in a short “bob” hairstyle, brown eyes, with a Tagalog language tattoo on her left inner arm. She may be wearing green contact lenses. She was last wearing light colored jeans, a dark jacket with a hood and brown suede boots.
Our news partner, The Seattle Times, spoke with Perez’ father in New Jersey. “I can’t describe what my wife and I are experiencing,” Perez said. “When you see a person missing on TV you feel sadness. When that person is related to you … I can’t describe it.”
