Early Monday morning a Toyota 4Runner slammed into the U District Fire Station 17. Just before 3:15 a.m., police spotted the stolen car heading northbound on 11th Ave NW and attempted to pull the driver over at NE 47th Street. The driver refused to stop and continued north. Three blocks later the river lost control of the SUV as it tried to turn left onto NE 50th Street and slammed into Station 17.
A 28-year-old female and 49-year-old male were in the car and were transported to Harborview Medical Center for treatment. The two were later booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Auto Theft.
No one in the fire station was injured.
