Support tiny houses & urban rest stops on Giving Tuesday, Nov 28

November 25th, 2017 · No Comments

Before we know it, it’s Giving Tuesday, philanthropy’s answer to Black Friday and Cyber Monday, a global day dedicated to giving back, where charities, families, businesses, community centers, and students around the world come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give.

Celebrate Giving Tuesday by making a donation to LIHI’s Tiny House Village and Urban Rest Stop programs.
LIHI’s Tiny House program provides warm, safe, secure shelter in a supportive village setting with case managers to help residents find jobs and permanent housing.  Seven villages in Seattle will help a thousand residents over the next year.  There is nothing like a door that you can lock and a room to call your own to help stabilize
and build a life from.
LIHI’s three Urban Rest Stops–in Ballard, the U District and Downtown–make showers, laundry, and other crucial hygiene services available to Seattle’s homeless population. Both sheltered and unsheltered homeless people need hygiene services. There is nothing like a hot shower on a cold day to make you feel human.

The hygiene services at the Urban Rest Stops make it possible for homeless men and women to get and keep jobs, stay healthy, and survive on the streets. Click here to donate and select Tiny Houses or Urban Rest Stops from the “Category”  drop-down menu.  While next Tuesday is the official Giving Tuesday  event, you can also donate now.
