Scenes from U-District Jazz Walk

November 9th, 2010 by master

This past Saturday, a brave crowd hit the streets for the second annual Lucid University District Jazz Walk. Although the rain came down throughout the night, people enjoyed jazz performances up and down the Ave, some of which did not end ’till early Sunday morning. In case you missed it, don’t forget that Lucid Lounge on the Ave and Cafe Racer on Roosevelt Way have plenty of live music each weekend.

Our Ravi Venkataraman took these photos as instrumental quartet EnRoot electrified the audience at Cafe Solstice.

Although the Ave’s record stores seem to have all but disappeared, the U-District’s many cafes, bars and restaurants will again host more than a dozen acts for tonight’s (11/6) Jazz Walk.

The LUCID Jazz Lounge on the Ave has teamed up with businesses on the Ave to host their second annual LUCID University District Jazz Walk.  The event starts at 6 p.m. and runs ’till 4 a.m — most shows wrap-up before 2 a.m. — and will feature a lineup of 18 local artists and music groups along University Way and Roosevelt Way.

Many venues are having drink and dessert specials. Although most are open to all ages, a few pubs and bars are 21 and older.

General admission is $10 and includes access to all venues, drink specials, a LUCID LIVE Jazz CD and an entry to win a $150 LUCID gift card. An All Inclusive admission is also available for $35, which consists of general admission offers and dinner at select shows from the Persian restaurant, Caspian Grill.
